Thanks to all who joined us for Mass Incarceration (part 1). We watched the first half of the documentary movie “13th“ together and then discussed it in small and our large group.
We will finish together viewing and discussing the movie on Tuesday, March 16th at 6:00pm Central.
On another note, I just watched the entire 4 hour documentary written by Henry Louis Gates, Jr on The Black Church: This is Our Story, This is Our Song. It is outstanding. As we near the end of lent, and our journey with this series has taken us through Lynching, Voter suppression, Housing discrimination/Wealth inequality and Mass Incarceration, it seems fitting to end with sense of the resurrection and this excellent documentary provides that. Let’s save Wednesday March 31st for our first viewing, then we can finish the Black Church story after Easter.
