This Sunday is THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT.
WE WELCOME ANYONE WHO CAN ATTEND SUNDAY MASS AT ST. JAMES AT 10:00 A.M. Fr. Garry Richmeier will be our celebrant.
Considering that many parishioners are still suffering the effects of the COVID-19 virus and other infections, if you plan to join us in person, we recommend masking if you exhibit symptoms or are immune compromised.
WE CONTINUE TO LIVE STREAM OUR 10:00 AM SUNDAY MASS, reaching out to parishioners and friends who can’t attend in person. Here is the link to the live stream on our Facebook page for St. James Midtown, KC. A recording of the live-streamed Mass can also be accessed at https://stjkc.org/sundays-at-st-james.
The next PARISH SYNODAL MEETING is on the fourth Sunday of April. Our regular meeting Sunday is the third Sunday of the month, which is Easter. Please plan to attend. We will discuss the parish budget.
MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO READ AND REFLECT ON THE READINGS BEFORE MASS.
READINGS FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2025
JOSEPH 5:9A, 10-12 As Israel settled into the land of Canaan (the Promised Land), they learned God removed the “reproach” of Egypt from them and they could freely eat from the land. What have you discovered about yourself or others during this season of Lent?
SECOND READING — 2 COR 5:17-21 Paul taught that reconciliation with God and each other was key to being a “new creation.” How often do you experience reconciliation with God or with others?
GOSPEL— LK 15:1-3, 11-32 In the parable of the Prodigal Son, in a real sense, both sons are lost. How might you help a lost family member or friend this week?
March 30 is our 5th Sunday Parish Luncheon. Our guests will be the Oglesby Hotel residences (Low-income housing between Troost39 and Bishop Sullivan Center). Contact Mary Vincent (mpv3@swbell.net) to sign up to help with set up, food prep, and clean up. EVERYONE IS INVITED! NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED.
